Abstract Assemblage

Found objects ( plastic mardi gras beads, lollipops wrapped in plastic, flowers from discarded bouquets, fallen branches, pages from old books, and assorted bric-a-brac) are arranged on found, often vintage, substrates. Affixed with flex seal and either covered with or laying on top of  high gloss black spray paint.

Using the lens of assemblage, human mortality and natural occurring entropy is examined via a death positive perspective while simultaneously analyzing the venality of environmental degradation caused by our consumerist society and how it intersects with racial inequalities, colonialism, and class disparities.
This series is a meditations on nostalgia and loss, in all of its forms, both those constructive and banal.
